On Friday morning Grandma and Papa came by early in the morning to pick us up from Aunt Lissy’s to take us to the airport. Thank you so much for doing that. I know it made for an early morning. Carson and I then flew from St. Louis to DFW. Since we had to catch a flight from DFW to Louisville in a few hours Carson and I hung out in the airport till Daddy could join us. We then had lunch with daddy. Then we were off on a flight to Louisville to go visit Granddad and Grandma Joy. It made for a long day but Carson is such a good sport about it all. Lissy thank you for letting us stay with you and destroying your apartment. You’re such a good aunt. PS Carson loved meeting your coworkers. Oh Yes … Papa, Carson wants to try some Ted Drus (spelling??) … he promises he will stay awake this time.
Friday late afternoon Granddad and Grandma Joy pick us up from the Louisville airport and were so excited to see Carson. While we were unpacking Carson climbed into my suitcase and made himself at home. He then tumbled out and went right on exploring his new surroundings. That night we had a late dinner and then went to bed for a good night’s sleep.
On Saturday Daddy played golf with Granddad while Mommy and Carson went shopping with Grandma Joy. That night we went to the Cathedral for mass and then it was off to the Bats baseball game. Carson really enjoyed his first game. He wore his first Cards jersey and baseball cap. He looked just too cute for words. He even got some cheesy fries. Sorry Lissy and Sara but there were no foam fingers. But our sleepy boy was out by the 7th inning. The bats won.
Sunday was my first Mother’s Day. Since we had gone to mass on Saturday night we got to sleep in. Even Carson slept till 9:00 which was 8:00 our time. We got cleaned up and went to Barbra Lee’s for brunch. It’s the awesome greasy spoon that I just love. When we got home Carson took a nap and then we opened gifts. Carson and Daddy gave me a pair of sunglasses I had been eyeing. THANK YOU!!! Don and Joy gave me a book and a Dust Buster which I needed badly. Before you knew it, it was time to pack up and head to the airport again. Our trip home went really well. We ran into Todd’s good friend Michael and his wife Monica at the airport. So we talked with them for a while and then caught our flight back home. Everything went pretty well until we got off the plane. Carson then got sick to his stomach right there where they scan your tickets. Well we cleaned him up and headed home. He got sick a few more times that night and the next day. You would have never guessed his stomach was upset. After he would get sick he would go right back to playing like nothing had ever happened. Over all it was a great weekend with family. We can’t wait to do it again next week.
