He has some BIG shoes to fill ... I'm sure it will be sooner rather than later

This past week was full of getting ready for Christmas and just plain normal life. On Monday we went to Carson's 15 month check up. He's a healthy and happy little boy. We then hurried home to make dinner for a friend's husband and little boy since she is in the hospital waiting on her twins to get bigger.

Wednesday we were able to join both Lindsi and Hang for lunch. Carson was such a big boy. He ate his lunch and did not throw a fit. Instead he would smile and talk to everyone around us. Hey, they thought they were just getting lunch but they got a lunch and a show. Carson seems to entertain everyone around us when we go out to eat.

On Thursday we headed over to Liz and William's house for playgroup. William is now a walker and he loves it. As always it was wonderful to see everyone. Carson is really starting to love playing with others.

Friday Carson and I had to go to the mall for some last minute gifts. He was so good in the store! Since he was a good boy we went to go play in the play area.

Saturday Todd, Carson and I went to the Gaylord Texan to see their Christmas display. They have a real life size gingerbread house and Santa. There was a toy solider on stilts that wanted to hold Carson. Carson did not want to be held by him but we still got a picture.

Sunday we packed up our Christmas gifts and today I got them shipped off to Grandma and Papa's house. Christmas is in the bag or at least in the box.

15 Months

Carson opening the door for his escape.
Talking to the nurses behing the window.

Playing with the walking toy and watching Toy Story at the same time

This morning Carson and I went for his 15 month check up. Our little man is a healthy baby boy with a little cold. Carson is now 32 1/2 inches long (75 percentile) and weighs 24 lbs (50th percentile).

While we were in the waiting room Carson loved to play with the walker toy and watch Toy Story. He also made several trip to the office window to talk to the nurses.

Once they asked us to come back he spent no time getting down to business. He wanted to walk to the room by himself. Then once he was back there and undressed he found out that he could open and shut the exam room door. He did not try to leave the room until after the nurse took us out the door to weigh him he knew he could escape. So then we had a streaker. It did not take long for his doctor to come in and see him. Oh how she LOVES his eyelashes. She checked him over and told us that he is a healthy boy.

Now it was SHOT time. Carson got his first flu shot and a few vaccinations. He was such a big boy. He only cried little while he was getting them. By the time I sat him up he had stopped. Such a BIG BOY!!!

We are CRAZY ... We went to the MALL!

Check out those cute eyelashes!

We had a pretty busy week here in Texas. Monday night Matt and Hang were so sweet to come over and watch Carson for us while went to proof our first official family portrait. Carson just loves spending time with them. I think we were able to pick out some good pics.

Tuesday was a tough day for our little man. I had taken him to MMO (mom's morning out) thinking he would be okay ... he has been getting better with me leaving him there. I went with some friends to go visit our friend Jamie who has been stuck in the hospital for the past five weeks waiting on her cute twin boys to join the world. Well when we got back I found out that poor Carson had been crying since I had left him there. Since Tuesday was so hard on him we took Wednesday off and skipped out on our MOPS (mother of preschoolers) meeting and just had a Mommy and Me day.

Thursday was a great treat. We got to go to Trip's 2nd birthday party at Going Bonkers. This was our first time there. Carson loved it and his cupcake. I'm sure we will be going back soon.

Friday we went over to Matt and Hangs to meet their Bible study group and to have dinner. While we were there we also got to hang out with Rey and Lindsi. Rey just loves to play with Carson and Carson loves to hangout with him.

Saturday we got ready and headed to the Galleria. Once we pulled off the highway we knew we were in for it. Parking was crazy but once we got in. We found that the lines were not too long for seeing Santa or eating lunch at Grand Lux. We did notice that right after we got into line at both they started to fill up very fast. I guess it was our lucky day. The mall was full and so was the play area but Carson did not mind at all. That night Todd and I had to go to a Christmas party for his work. We left Carson with a sitter who he just loved. He did very well with her and she was a sweetie.

Every time we get home from running to Walmart or Kroger I let Carson run around in the garage and driveway while I take all the bags into the house. We the past few times Carson comes out of the garage holding a can of beer. Todd has some beer left over from a party out there in a beverage can. I always find it kind of funny. FYI Carson can palm a can. Strong boy!

Well here are a few pics from this weekend ... Enjoy.

Thanksgiving 2008 in Louisville

Last Wednesday we made our way to Louisville to visit Todd's family. On Thanksgiving we had a wonderful dinner at Todd's parents house and had some of Joy's family over. It was so nice to be able to see everyone and catch up. Friday we were able to meet some of Don and Joy's friends with their kids and grand kids at Graters for ice cream. Saturday we went to visit Angela and give her a Christmas wreath with a little extra bling from Carson. That night after church some of Don's family came over for White Castle and a visit. Sunday we had to head home. We knew that since our trip was so good going to Louisville that we would be cursed on the way home and oh were we. First we sat on the plane on the tarmac for 2 and a half hours while they took care of a mechanical issue. Then when we did get to DFW our luggage was the last off. Over all it was a great trip and Carson really enjoyed his time with his grandparents. Here are a few pics to Enjoy!

Check Out Our Cute Dork

Our Cute Little DORK!
This week was a not to eventful. We had both MMO and MOPS and Carson did very well in both ... well not so well with MOPS ... I could hear him screaming down the hallway when I went to go pick him up. Poor thing was still whimpering in the back seat on our way home. Don't worry he is okay now. He was fine by the time we made it to Kroger. I guess this little man loves his mommy.
Monday we had a nice surprise and wonderful weather. We were able to join some of our friends at the playground up the street. Carson loved to be able to run around and play with his friends. On Thursday we had our playgroup which we had missed the past few weeks so it was really nice to see everyone. Friday we join my friend Lindsi for lunch. We had not seen her since her and Rey's wedding. Carson was a big boy and behaved VERY WELL ... not one screaming fit.
The weekend has been nice and restful. Todd was able to get the Christmas lights up and now we are totally decorated for Christmas. It will be so nice not to have to deal with that when we get home from Thanksgiving. Saturday night we went over to Matt and Hang's to watch the Blowout aka the OU - Texas Tech game. The game was not much fun but meeting some of Hang's family and eating wonderful food was.

We are flying to Louisville Wednesday night for Thanksgiving with Todd's family. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Take Care!

A slow weekend ... Thank God!

The gift he left me to clean up ... look at that busy work.

The little man who answered the door ... Oh so proud of himself.

The view I first saw.
I knew he could be up to no good when I did not hear a peep out of him for 5 minutes.

My Little Man's new Little Boy hair cut.

Carson just after his nap. Check out the wild hair.

We ended up having a pretty slow weekend around here. Saturday morning Todd and Carson wen1t to Rik Tatum to have their hair trimmed. This was Carson's third haircut but it was his firs1t little boy haircut. I must admit I was a little sad when him and Daddy came home. My little m1an is growing up.

Saturday afternoon we headed to the Galleria to get good start on our Christmas shopping and to buy1 Carson some jeans. The weather is starting to cool down a little and my Little Man's legs were starting to get cold. Since he is a little boy and a very messy little boy I have a feeling we are going to need many pairs of jeans in order to keep him in a clean pair.
Sunday we were able to get the Christmas decorations inside the house and this coming weekend we are going to work on the lights and outside decorations. That way we will not have to worry about them when we get back from Thanksgiving.

Papa is Better

Get better Papa ... You being sick make my hair go crazy!

Let's do it again soon Papa!

Thank God for Papas! We had a little scare last week. Tuesday morning my dad notice a little tingly feeling on his left side. He thought he had slept wrong on something and was feeling the effects of that. He went into work and noticed that he was going numb on his left side so he had a nurse take his pressure and it was very high. So my Dad being my Dad waited till lunch to drive himself home to have Mom take him to the ER. He told my Mom that he could drive and she told him no way. Well he had a small stroke which caused the numbness on his left side. They admitted him to the CCU so they could bring down and watch his blood pressure. He was home by Friday morning. Well when we all heard the news all the kids started to make their way back home. I found out a little before 2:00 and by 5:00 Todd, Carson and I were on a flight to KC. We were all home by 10:30 Tuesday night! The next day we all got busy on the yard and closing down the pool so Dad would not have to worry about it when he got home. In the next few weeks Andy is going to come home and hang the Christmas lights. It's going to he hard for Dad to sit still. But he is doing very well. He thinks he may be back to work part time next week. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and thoughts. What wonderful family and friends we are blessed with.

Caroline's Night Out

Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday dear Caroline.
Happy birhtday to you.

Happy 21st Birthday Caroline. Caroline is so sweet and wanted us to join her on her 21st birthday night out. Here are a few pics from the night. It was a good time ... she even got to party with Mom and Dad. Enjoy!

Halloween Party

Saturday night after Halloween we had our Halloween party. Ali and Mom worked very hard on this party that included everything from a hotdog roast to a pumpkin pinata. All the kids had a great time. Check out the spread Ali put on. She is an amazing baker! Thank you Ali and Mom!

Kaitlin and Zane

We had an little surprise engagement party for Kaitlin and Zane Friday night after the trick or treating. We set it all up in the dinning room while they were in the family room and they had no clue ... to fun!

Halloween

We spent Halloween this year at my parents house. Carson was a lion and I must say he was pretty cute. I did not get the kind of pictures I wanted so when things slow down a little around here I will have to put him back in his costume and get the ones I want. Todd was not able to go with us because he was flying in that night (he got in around 1:30AM). The rest of the family started to get into town around 7:30. So we went Trick or Treating with the Farwell's around my parents' neighborhood. Carson made it to about 4 houses before he had had enough. The head on his costume was a little big so it made it hard to see. Plus it was warm that night so he was getting a little overheated. So Molly and I took Ellie and Carson back to the house while Ali and Andrew took Jackson to some more houses. TOO FUN and TOO CUTE! Here are some pics.

On October 26th Carson and I headed back to KV to spend the week with my family. As always my parents were sweet enough to pick us up from the airport and then we all joined Andy, Autumn and cute little Briley for brunch. Then it was off to KV. That night we when we got back into town Ali had us over for dinner and Carson really enjoyed playing with his cousins. The rest of the week was relaxing and enjoyable. We always love to spend time with Grandma and Papa. Carson loved playing outside and riding around with Papa on the lawnmower. Carson also fell in love with Kaitlin and Molly. They like to spoil him a little. Tuesday night was Caroline's 21st birthday. She saved her big night out till the weekend. So her birthday night she spent with her family. Funny I remember when they brought her home from the hosptial and it does not seem that long ago ... wow how time passes. The week was great and here are a few pics from it.

The Pumpkin Patch

Today we made a trip out to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. What is funny about this trip is that we always get into our FALL clothes all excited about autumn and the cool weather. Once we are out there we remember that we are in TX and it's just plain HOT! We are not the only ones doing this by the way. The patch is just full of people like us pushing our strollers and wagons in our warm clothes through the hot dusty fields. Todd and I went out there once to get a Christmas tree and it was still HOT! OH Well! We still had a good time. Carson really enjoyed it till he fell out of his wagon. Poor guy he is a okay just a little dusty.

Sunday morning Carson and I will be heading to KV to see my parents. Todd is going to join us on Friday. We will be in KC by 9:00AM so it's going to be an early morning in our house. Thank you Grandma and Papa for picking us up!

Enjoy these pics from the Pumpkin Patch!

Lindsi and Rey's Wedding

Congrats to our good friends Rey and Lindsi. They got married this past Friday in Santa Fe, NM.

This week was a busy one for us. After our trip to Hilton Head we had to hit the ground running. Monday we had to do the laundry and organize for the week. Tuesday was MMO (Mom's Morning Out) and Carson was not to fond of the daycare thing. Wednesday we had MOPS (Mother's of Preschool Children) and then on Thursday we hosted playgroup at our house. After everyone left playgroup Carson went down for a nap and I packed us up for our trip to Santa Fe. That night we ran to the Galleria to pick up a few last minute things and to grab dinner at Grand Lux. Always yummy! Then it was off to bed for all of us.

Friday morning we were up and running by 5:00 in order to catch our flight to NM. FYI ... We have been in three different time zones this past week. When we got into NM we had a hour drive to Santa Fe. Once we made it into town we grabbed a nice lunch in downtown Santa Fe. Our room was not ready when we check in at Bishop's Lodge but Matt and Hang were so sweet and let us hang out in their room while we waited. So we put Carson down for a nap. Then we were able to relax and read on the back deck in the sun. After Carson woke up our room was ready. So we checked in and got dressed for the wedding.

The wedding was beautiful and the weather was perfect. They got married in this little chapel called the Loretto Chapel which has this wonderful staircase made with no nails. The wedding was a hit. Carson made it all the way down with the help of Daddy. He was going to walk with the flower girls but they had a hard time trying to figure out how to hold his hand and drop the rose petals so Todd helped him. He was a BIG BOY and did a good job. A funny note from the wedding. One of the flower girls hair caught fire and her mom had to hit her on the head to get it out. It was a scene ... don't worry everyone is okay.

They had their reception at the La Fonda Hotel (Oldest hotel in Santa Fe). The food and views were amazing. We all had a wonderful time. Carson fell in love with Rick and Dora. Rick stands at 6 feet and 8 inches so Carson loved the view when Rick would hold him. Carson also loved dancing with Dora who is Rick's wife. They were so sweet to Carson. While at the reception we met so many people and everyone had a great time.

The next morning we were able to sleep in and Carson slept till 8:00 ... WOW! We took our time getting ready and packed up. Then met up with Matt and Hang and drove into town (our hotel Bishop's Lodge is located just outside of Santa Fe) to meet Rey and Lindsi for brunch. It was so nice to be able to all sit down and talk and have a great meal. After that Rey and Lindsi took us to see their room at La Fonda ... very nice and it had the best view of the mountains. We then all loaded up and headed back to the airport for our flight home with Matt and Hang. It was a fast trip but also very relaxing and enjoyable. We would love to go back sometime.

This week we plan on going to the Pumpkin Patch for our pumpkins and getting our mums for the season. We also have MMO and playgroup. A week from today Carson and I will be heading back to KV for the week and Todd will join us for the weekend.

Visit from Grandma and Papa

This weekend Papa and Grandma came to visit us. It was a busy but fun weekend. On Friday Carson and Papa hanged out together while Mom and I went dress shopping for Kaitlin's wedding. That night Todd joined us and we went out to eat at Brio. Carson was wonderful while we were there. They gave him a balloon and also a little of pizza dough. He loved both of them and played the whole time. Saturday we woke up and headed out to the Texas State Fair. We were not sure what to think but once we got there we were able to enjoy the nice weather and the fair which is really a bunch of fried food. Over the years they have fried everything from Coke to Twinkies. This year the hit was chicken fried bacon. We then had to hurry home to put Carson down for his nap. While he was down for his nap we got the house ready for his 2nd First Birthday Party. The 1st one was back in KV with out family and friends. His 2nd one was back here is TX for our friends and his playgroup. The party was a hit and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. On Sunday we all went out for brunch and took Grandma and Papa back to the airport. Thank you so much for coming and we hope you can make it back soon.

This coming weekend we head to Hilton Head to spend some time with Todd's parents. In one form or another we will be traveling for the next five weekends ... TOO FUN!
