A Carson Update
A few weeks ago Carson had his one year check up. We have a very healthy and happy baby boy. He weighs 22 pounds (50th percentile) and is 31 1/2 inches (90th percentile) long. While in the office he was a happy playful boy but after being in there for over an hour Carson started to get upset. So the nurse let us roam the halls of the office and while doing that Carson made some friends and was a big hit. One of the nurses pulled out some bubbles and instead of chasing them Carson was eating them. Silly boy!
That same week we went to St. Ann's (our church) Carnival. Carson got to go on his first carousal ride. We went in the morning without knowing that they bring out all the fun stuff for kids in the evenings. So there was no petting zoo or pony rides. Oh well maybe next year.
Once we got home from Missouri, Carson got to open his birthday gifts from us. He has really enjoyed his new red car. He is so cute in it. I love it because I can push him around the house are the neighborhood. He loves it because it plays music and there are many ways for him to get in and out of it. Sometimes head first. He also got a tunnel which he just loves. Our neighbors Matt and Hang came over the other night for Game Night and Matt had got into it and stood up ... well Carson did not know what to think about that. It was pretty funny to watch.
While I was making dinner the other day I had left the door on the fridge open so Carson could play in there ... he loves that. Well it got really quite and I noticed that he was not there any more. I found him in the living room watching TV with a stick of butter in his mouth. What a snack ... my silly silly boy. It must have felt good to his gums. FYI Carson has four molars coming in right now. Yes, that would be one on all sides of his mouth. Poor boy! He has been a champ about it ... so strong and brave.
This weekend after Ike left the area we headed over to Grapefest in Grapevine. The weather was prefect and hey they had wine and a petting zoo. So they whole family was very happy.

Cheese!
It was a pretty lazy week in the Bobzien house. Carson is just a walking machine. He can even stand up and walk on his own now. He no longer has to pull up on something. He has also started to learn the word "NO." Now when he is not happy with something you are doing he just tucks his chin and starts shaking his head and going "NONONONONONONO." I think it's pretty cute and it's really hard not to smile when he does it.
Tuesday was my 34th birthday day and I must say Carson and Todd did an amazing job. Todd came home early from work (5:30 and for those of you who know Todd and his work hours you understand that 5:30 is pretty early for Todd.) and had pretty flowers and a gift from Carson. When they took me out for a nice dinner the car was full of ballons. TOO FUN! Well we had to cut dinner short ... Carson had other plans for the evening and a nice dinner with live jazz were not on his agenda. Hey, I guess it's just part of having a one year old. I had a wonderful time with my cute little family. Oh! You know when you want a filing cabinet for your birthday you are offical OLD!
As for the weekend we took it easy and enjoyed a relaxing weekend. On Saturday night our dear friends: Lindsi, Rey, Hang, and Matt took us out for dinner for my birthday. It is always nice to spend time with close friends. Carson once again had other plans for dinner so Todd and I took turns hanging out with Carson and the Valet Guy. Dinner was nice and Thank You Guys!
I have a video clip of Carson playing in his bath. He is not splashing like he was earlier but it's still pretty cute! Enjoy!
Carson and Molly all washed up and ready for a movie.

Carson and Molly before she left.

I just had to and I promise I will never do it again.
Molly came to Dallas this weekend to visit. We had a wonderful time. We were able to do some shopping and even had time to get our nails done. Carson really like having someone else around the house.

Party Time
On Saturday we had a pool party for Carson's 1st birthday at my parents house. The theme was "What Little Boys are Made Of." Many family and friends came and it was so nice to be able to see and talk to everyone. Friends who I have not seen in a long time were there and it was wonderful to see their families and how their lives have turned out. Carson loved his party and even had some help opening his gifts. When it was time for him to eat his cake, he was not sure what to do but he did figure it out a little. I'm sure next year he will have it down perfectly. Thank you to everyone for all your help and for coming to the party.
Happy 1st Birthday Charles Carson Michael Bobzien!
Happy birthday to my sweet little man. Wow that year went by so fast. Today is the day we celebrate you (August 29th)! Today we started off the day with hugs from everyone. Then we went out to lunch with our family. Robin was even in town and able to join us. We always love to see and catch up with her. Then we spent the day playing and hanging out with family. That evening everyone started to come into town. That included Daddy who we missed a lot. Grandma made all different types of soup and Carson loved the veggie soup. YUMMY! Carson had a great birthday and the rest of us could not wait for his party on Saturday.

Carson and I spent the last week of August back in Kirksville with my family. Thank you to Grandma, Papa and Molly for picking us up at the airport in KC and driving us back to KV. While we were in KC we met Andy, Autumn, and of course cute little Briley Mae for brunch in Zona Rosa.
While at Grandma and Papa Carson loved playing in the backyard and the pool with all his cousins and Papa. Jackson and Ellie we very nice to Carson. Papa would take them all on wagon rides with the lawnmower. He would also give Carson apples from the apple tree. Carson loved those apples even the one covered in ants ... YUCK! Grandma was so nice to show Carson how to play with the toys that were at her house. She also spent a lot of time working with Carson to raise one finger for his first birthday ... we are still working on that. We also went on walks and picnics and even out to eat a few times.
While we were back in KV Carson needed it get his haircut for the first time. Kim was so sweet and gave him his first haircut for free. What a big boy he is becoming.
On Thursday we met up with the KV clan as well as Lissy and Grandpa Mike at the Pear Tree for dinner. As a cute surprise they came out with a bowl of mints with a sparkler in it for Carson's birthday. Too sweet.
