Before Carolina and Colton

We are back! Sorry for the delay in our blog. Over the next few days I will be adding post from the last two months.
Colton and Carolina have blessed us with their cuteness (more about them in the up and coming post) and Carson had been an awesome Big Brother. Really he has been amazing. I'm so proud of him. This post is about Carson's last days as an only child.
The days before the babies were born were in one word ... CRAZY!!!! First of all Don and Joy had a very hard time getting from Louisville to Dallas. They got stuck on I40 (which they had closed) in Nashville for over seven hours due to the horrible flooding that was going on in that area. They were able to get off of I40 and find a hotel room for the night. They came in a day later due to the delay.
I was going to be induced May 4th at 8:00PM but the day before they changed it to May 5th at 5:00AM. Being very pregnant with twins I was not a fan of that idea but it worked out perfectly because Baby Sedlak was going to make an early arrival.
MAY 3RD
Don and Joy got into town later that evening and we all went out for dinner. While we were waiting for them to arrive Carson and I were busy playing with his cars and bike.
Carson had been working really hard on learning to ride his bike more specifically peddling. Since our sidewalks and roads are all pretty slanted we let him practice in the house. He still wanted to wear his Cars helmet.

He LOVES to line up his cars and then take pictures of them. Todd gave me a new camera as a push gift so I let Carson have our old one. It has been one of his favorite toys for a while now.

MAY 4TH

Carson's last day as an only child started with a Mommy's Brunch at his preschool.

The day before I was going to be induced Joy and I went to Carson's preschool for his Mommy's brunch. I loved every minute of it.

Carson and his friend David spent most of the brunch under the table playing.

Mommy and Carson

Later that night we went to the airport to pick up Grandma and Papa only to take them right back to the airport in less than 45 minutes. They had just left St. Louis just a few hours earlier. While they were in St. Louis they had lunch with Lissy, a very pregnant Sara, and the cute birthday girl Bella. Sara was feeling tired and a little off. Papa had notice she was acting a little different and was wondering if she would go into labor. So when they landed in Dallas he called Sara and Ryan's house to check on Sara ... well in short Sara had gone into labor in the middle of Bella's 2nd birthday party. So poor Sara had to leave Bella's party to go to the hospital to have Brady. Grandma and Papa made it to St. Louis around 10:00PM on the last flight of the night. - Southwest! They were able to meet Brady around midnight. Then they headed back to Sara's house for a few (if even that) hours of sleep. Then very early the next morning Lissy drove them back to the airport - THANKS LISSY - to catch the first flight out to Dallas.

Carson's last night as an only child. He has NO idea that his life is going to change.
We all got to bed late that night and had a very early morning. Todd and I needed to be at the hospital by 5:00AM. Don and Joy were so sweet to come over early that morning to watch Carson since Grandma and Papa were not in town yet ... they were literally on their way to the airport again. TOO FUN!!

Carson's Room and the Nursery

Check out this cutie. I was cleaning and I noticed that Carson was not around. So I went around the house and found him in his old bed watching Ice Age on his DVD player.

He may have some issues when we bring home Colton and Carolina. But I thought it was a sweet moment.

Here is another pic of the nursery.

Here are some more pics of Carson's new room. We think it turned out pretty well.

We are looking for something to go on top of the dresser. Anyone have any ideas? We want something to give it some height. It also has to look good from the side and the front.

Sleeping Bags and The Nursery

Since our home is going to welcome two more little cuties we had to clean out and reorganize much of the house. I had ordered two of these trunks for Carson to keep his toys in. We placed one in the living room and one in his bedroom. He will often push the one in his room into the living room and this is how we found him one night. A very happy boy.
Carson has been using our old camera lately. He is getting better and better each time. He has learned how to use the viewfinder. Here is a pick he took of his kitchen. Lissy I think he may need some lessons while you are here.

Here are a few pics of the nursery since we had to do a little renovation on it.
We think it turned out pretty good. I can't wait to bring Colton and Carolina home to see it.

While Lissy was in Washington DC this spring she took some pics of the Jefferson Memorial at night. The turned out so cool. Since Todd went to University of Virgina (founded by Jefferson) for his MBA we thought we would use them in Carson's room. I know I know it's not really little boy like but we wanted to keep it pretty mature since it's a guest room and to make the house easier to sell when it's time to move. The Jefferson quote below the canvas is written in Jefferson handwriting which I think it pretty cool. As you can see we had some issues with putting up the quote. It took Todd and I a VERY LONG time to get it up. Sorry the pic is not that great. I would go take a better one but right now Carson is still in bed and I want to get this post done before he wakes up.

Saturday night Todd and Carson attempted to have a slumber party out in the living room. The purpose was to get Carson excited about his sleeping bag. Since we are going to have guest stay with us for the next month Carson is going to get to sleep in his a lot.
It started off well. They had their movie going and they were all snuggy on the floor.

About an hour later I went out to check out the giggles and this is what I found.

His Daddy was sound asleep and Carson was running all over the room and jumping off the furniture. So I got him calmed down and all snuggy again.

He lasted about another 30 minutes until the movie was over then he was really sleepy and not willing to fall asleep out there so we had to move him to his bed where he feel asleep in mater of minutes and did not wake up until 9:30 the next morning.
We are going to be induced Tuesday night. So Colton and Carolina may be here Wednesday, May 5th. Don and Joy have started their trip and should be here sometime today. They were stuck on I40 near Nashville yesterday for hours due to the flooding so they working hard to get here. We are just very happy that they are safe. Grandma and Papa are going to flying in around 6:00PM on Tuesday. I think Todd and I are going to be running into the hospital since we are suppose to check in at 8:00PM. It's going to be fun and crazy. We are ready!
Saturday was miss Bella's birthday party. So sorry we had to miss that as well as Briley's the week before. There are going to be so many birthday in April and May now. I think we may have to start having Big Group Birthday Party soon.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Yesterday Todd turned 41! After Carson and I left MOPS a little early we were able to join Daddy for lunch which was a nice treat. I can't remember the last time we were able to go out for lunch with Todd. Too fun!
Since I'm so prego I went for gift bags this year instead of wrapping. So much easier!
These are Todd way undercooked brownies (the way he loves them) or as Carson called them all day cutcakes.

That night we went to BJ's Brew House for dinner. The food was wonderful. I only wished I had more room in my belly. Carson insisted on wearing his red cowboy boot. Sorry for the quality of the pic but it was a cute moment.

When we got home it was candle and cutcake time. Carson would blow the candles out before we could even sing. Poor Todd never got to blow out his own candles. Carson was nice enough to take care of that for him.

Look at my cuties!!!

Time to eat the cutcakes and the candles too.

YUCK!!!!

Then it was time to open gifts. Carson still have a little brownie on his face. He wanted to know if that was his bag.

I think it was a pretty good birthday. We are very blessed to Todd in our lives. He is a wonderful husband and amazing Daddy.

Belly, Cowboy Boots, Bikes and a Duck

Sorry for the delay in our blog. Getting everything ready for the twins has been keeping us pretty busy. Here is a little update and a few pictures.
Carson has started to cook and eat with his play kitchen. Below he made mac -n-cheese with eggs. He then carried his chair into the living room so that he could eat at the coffee table. By the way the hot pad is his napkin.
This is a picture of my belly in a dress that does not make it look as big.

Carson found a new form of entertainment ... our sprinklers. Todd was testing them and Carson just loved it.

All the boy needed was his soap and we could have taken care of his bath.

After the sprinklers it was time to ride his bike.

Daddy and Carson

Then the scooter ... He loves his red cowboy boots.

One evening Carson and I found this duck out in our street. Todd said he had seen it in the same place that morning. Something was not right with the duck but Carson really enjoyed watching him. He would yell "Hi Duck" and then "Quack Quack." Too cute.

We even gave the duck some bread but he did not eat any.

While our delay in blogging we missed posting about Jackson's birthday. I really can't believe that he is six. So happy birthday buddy! I will be back later today to post about Todd's birthday. It was yesterday and we all had a wonderful evening.

Happy Easter!

This weekend we were busy with getting the house ready, doing our taxes and our Easter plans. Carson was such a good boy when we had our taxes done. We were there for over an hour and a half and Carson was so good I had to take a picture.
After looking at the last few weeks of pictures I think it may be time for a new camera. The left side of the pictures seem to be a little blurry. It also takes too long to take a picture.
We colored eggs for the first time this year and Carson was a champ. He is a very good dunker. Over all it was a success. Of course all the cool things I got to make the eggs fancy did not work. But Carson did not come out pink and blue.

Carson's Easter Basket

Carson's cute basket from school.

Easter morning. Look at the little bag in his hands. It holds what he calls his "beans." They were jellybeans that went with his Jellybean Prayer from school. He carried them around with him all weekend.

Checking out what the Easter Bunny brought him.

Okay this is the only pic I have of Carson in his Easter outfit. We were in such a hurry to get to church that we did not take any pictures. Next year I promise to be better at this. We are also going to head to church a full hour early so that we can get seats in the main church. This year we showed up 30 minutes early and got some of the last seats in the overflow mass.

This weekend we were able to put all our extra furniture in storage. Thanks to Matt for helping us do that. We were also able to get the monograms up in the nursery. Once it's finished I will post some pics.
